Ekklesia– 5:45 Sunday Evenings

So… we’re starting up a new worship service over at First Presbyterian (that’s it to the left… and the arched door to the far left, that’ll take you into the chapel, where the service will be taking place). It’s called Ekklesia, which, loosely translated, means “church, gathering.” If I were to describe what it’ll be like, I’m not sure it would be fair. I mean, Patrick Laney (associate for youth), Kim Gentry (music leader), and I are hoping it’s different from week to week. There will be some contemporary elements, some traditional elements, and, ideally, some new elements. But the general idea is for it to be laid back, open to any and everyone, come as you are type worship.

Jeans and a t-shirt? Come on in. Shorts? Yep. Shirt and tie? For sure. We don’t want anyone to feel intimidated or left out. We don’t want anyone to feel like they have to fit a certain mold. The fact of the matter is that we don’t want this worship service to fit a certain mold… other than the fact that we’re worshiping the triune God.

So, seriously. Come on. We’d love to see you there… we hope to see you there. 900 Greensboro Avenue, Downtown Tuscaloosa. 5:45. Sunday evening. Chapel. Awesomeness.
